On Wednesday 20 February, Delta Commissioner Wim Kuijken was a guest speaker at Delft University’s Big Water Night: Smart Solutions and Super Tricks themed evening.
The 150-strong audience comprised future water specialists and other interested parties. Wim Kuijken spoke about the structure and strategy of the Delta Programme. The organisers had chosen Smart Solutions and Super Tricks as the theme for the evening. The Delta Commissioner therefore linked smart solutions like the Delta Works of the first Delta Plan to the new solutions which are being worked on in the Delta Programme, with an equally innovative approach, to secure the future of our delta.
"The Delta Programme links our past to the way in which we are using smart solutions to secure our future. Although I wouldn’t call it a ‘trick’, it is a special programme and it definitely involves a new approach and a different way of governance,” according to Mr. Kuijken.
