Integrated River Management

The effects of climate change are tangible. Fast and efficient action is needed. The multiple agendas and the limited room for development require an overall picture, an integrated area-specific approach and adaptive collaboration. The Integrated River Management programme (which began in mid-2018) implements this broader approach. The national and regional authorities are working together on a new vision for 2050. The objective is to devise coordinated solutions for flood risk management, water quality, fresh water, shipping and nature.
