There is cooperation between all kinds of authorities but how can citizens provide their input and join in discussions regarding the Delta Programme?

Citizens can provide input for the Delta Programme at various times, through NGOs or in other ways. In recent years, all the sub-programmes have held (regional) meetings in the purview of the participation process. Ideas presented by citizens have been factored in by the relevant sub-programmes.

In September 2014, formal public participation procedures were initiated, continuing into 2015, enabling citizens to present their views regarding topics such as (the follow-up to) the National Water Plan. In addition, residents can actively participate in the sections of the Delta Programme that are dealt with by their municipal or provincial authorities. Furthermore, citizens can demonstrate their involvement on the website that contains information about the Delta Programme.
