Prelude to drinks
Water Board Chairs Hetty Klavers, Tanja Klip and Carla Moonen speak about their personal experiences in various positions in relation to the Delta Programme. The Delta Commissioner proposes a toast with them to bring the afternoon session to a close.

Excursions

There will be two organised excursions in which you can participate. A maximum of 30 persons can take part in each excursion. Seats are strictly limited.

Amersfoort is home to one of the Spatial Adaptation testing grounds where a vision has been developed regarding the location and design of a new main structure in urban development: the stadslandzone. These corridors along roads, railways and canals form a continuous green-blue urban structure into which existing green and blue structures can be incorporated. Attention is paid to the process, the benefits and scope for improvement, and the link between the climate and other issues being faced by an in cities.

Breakout sessions

The breakout sessions are held in various rooms at De Rijtuigenloods. Most of the rooms have a maximum capacity of 40 persons. Seats are strictly limited. The sessions are repeated a number of times.

  • Delta Decision on Water Safety: working with the new water safety standards.
  • Delta Decision on Fresh Water: freshwater measures and the level of the freshwater supply.
  • Delta Decision on Spatial Adaptation: spatial adaptation in practice.
  • Delta Decision on the IJsselmeer Region: flexible water-level management, a new phenomenon.
  • Delta Decision on the Rhine-Meuse Delta: adaptive delta management in practice.
  • Decision on Sand: sand strategy and innovative dike concepts.
  • Spatial planning measures and smart combinations: multi-layered safety pilots, new-style area development.
  • Evacuation Module for the Safety Regions: the third level of water safety in practice.
  • Role of Design in the Delta Programme: the power of design in linking up interests.
