House of Representatives demonstrates commitment to Delta Programme

Delta Commissioner Wim Kuijken exchanged ideas about the Delta Programme 2014 with the House of Representatives. He was speaking at the invitation of the Standing Committee for Infrastructure & the Environment. Seven members of the House took part in the discussion and demonstrated their commitment to the protection of our country against high water and to ensuring an adequate freshwater supply.

The representatives present from the VVD, PvdA, SP, CDA and 50PLUS broached various current matters involving the Delta Programme, including the new water safety standards, multi-layered safety, adding water quality to the Delta Fund and the strength of the Delta Programme’s working method.

The discussion served as preparation for the members of the House for the Wetgevingsoverleg (legislative consultation) on Monday 18 November with Minister Schultz van Haegen regarding, among other things, the Delta Programme 2014.
