Visit to the Zuiderzee Museum makes impression
On Tuesday 19 April, the Delta Commissioner visited the “Flooded” exhibition at the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. This exhibition allows visitors to experience what a flood is like and how you can prepare for one. The most tangible experience happens in the “flooded street” where the flood occurred yesterday, as it were. Visitors walk past the devastation and badly damaged houses.

It is exactly one hundred years ago since the Zuiderzee region was last hit by flooding. The “flooded street” leaves visitors with a poignant impression that illustrates the need to keep flood protection in good order. Wim Kuijken was accompanied through the “flooded street” by museum director Stephan Warnik, Luc Kohsiek, chair of the Hollands Noorderkwartier District Water Control Board (a major partner in the realisation of the exhibition) and other members of the Hollands Noorderkwartier District Water Control Board.
